Andrew McEvoy

He came to the role at the start of 2014 after 20 years in the tourism and travel industry, most recently as Managing Director of Tourism Australia (four years), the nation’s global marketing agency.

Playing the leading role in Australia’s $107 billion visitor economy Andrew oversaw a return to growth of Australia’s inbound tourism sector with a stronger focus on Asia while remaining competitive in the traditional long haul markets of the UK, Europe and the Americas.

Life Media & Events encompasses lifestyle-oriented products – travel, health, food, parenting and motoring – into a single division while Fairfax events is another major revenue growth business for the company.  Fairfax events aims to more strongly engage its 10 million strong monthly readership through mass consumer events across Australia and NZ. Engaging it’s diverse communities with a particular focus on running, food, the arts, parenting and business events and giving back through charity fundraising.

Prior to joining Tourism Australia, Andrew had almost 20 years of tourism and media experience including as CEO of the South Australian Tourism Commission (SATC). Andrew began life as a journalist with News Ltd and has lived and worked overseas.

Andrew was elected to the position of Non-Executive Director of Sealink in February 2015, with the new role of Chairman of the Board from July 2015. He has been Chair of the Board for the Adelaide Riverbank Authority Board since August 2014.

Andrew Paton-Smith AFAIM, BA(Hons), MBT(UNSW)

Andrew PSAndrew is the Managing Director of Jazoodle, a self confessed tech and data nerd who has used these skills in building Jazoodle, a specialist travel and SME business consultant , and bringing innovative, data and analytical driven solutions to SME business owners and directors.

Andrew achieved a First Class Honours degree from Anglia Ruskin University in the UK, building, along the way, a predictive model of sales performance of a retail organisation based upon both macro and micro economic data. He was subsequently successful in securing an offer to Cambridge University on the MPhil Economics program.

In 2014, Andrew successfully completed his Master of Business and Technology degree at UNSW, combining his skills and interest in the strategic management of business and technology, the blend of which can add significant value to business.

Andrew’s travel industry career started in 2000, as MIS manager of a UK mid sized TMC, rapidly rising to Director of IT in both the European, and, following his move to Australia, APAC regions. Andrew has also headed technology,  business solutions, and mid/back office solutions with both Qantas Business Travel and more recently, with Amadeus. Andrew’s roles have included heading integration and M and A activity, as well as devising go to market strategies for solutions teams.

Andrew’s passion lies in data modelling, and analysis, and how these apply to ongoing business ventures, and the effect that historical performance, risk and opportunity has on business valuation within M and A investigations.

Sabina Ziolkowski, Founder of Travel Industry Network

Sabina Ziolkowski 0616Sabina is the founder of Travel Industry Network, a membership website supporting Travel Agents in an increasingly competitive and time poor industry. Travel Industry Network hosts play-on-demand product training and updates for tour operators, suppliers, and tourism bodies.

Prior to launching Travel Industry Network, Sabina had extensive experience working in the travel industry as a retail travel consultant and also a business development manager for a leading wholesale tour operator. She also spent time outside the travel industry in technical and data focused roles.

Sabina will be sharing why video has become such an important part of the digital marketing mix but more importantly, providing practical tips to create affordable quality video for use in your digital and social marketing, B2B training, or internal staff training.
